The Passion of Christ refers to His sufferings, from the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane to his death by crucifixion. The term comes from the Latin “passio”, meaning "to suffer" or "endure".

There are many who love the pageantry of Jesus and the vocabulary of Jesus, but don not bow to the lordship of Jesus and serve Him. Palm branches in the hand are worthless if rebellion still sits on the throne of the heart.

We can do a good deed in a bad spirit. We can help the poor and still serve ourselves. We can appear sacrificial while secretly feeding an idol called human approval.

In Acts 5:1-11, Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, sold property but deceptively kept part of the proceeds while claiming to donate the full amount to the church..
Confronted by Peter about lying to the Holy Spirit, both died instantly, serving as a severe, immediate judgment against hypocrisy and greed within the early church.

Hosea 3 depicts God commanding Hosea to redeem his unfaithful wife, Gomer, from adultery. This symbolizes God’s unconditional love and commitment to restoring Israel despite their spiritual infidelity and shows us a love that moves toward the undeserving, not away from them.

In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus tells a parable to define "neighbor" as anyone in need, regardless of background. After a traveler is beaten and ignored by religious leaders, a despised Samaritan shows compassion by treating his wounds, providing lodging, and paying for his care. Jesus challenges the listener to "go and do likewise".

Matthew 25:42-45 - For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’
44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’
45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’

James 2:15-16 - If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

There are too many Christians who prefer to keep God’s Word in the 1st Century AD.

Too many do not want to examine their actions or beliefs under the lens of God’s Word.

They say we should “stick to scripture” which means don’t bring God’s Word into today’s world.

It is Marxist influence within society today that attacks God given rights and morality. Nearly every modern progressive movement has deep historical and theoretical roots in Marxist and communist philosophy. Particularly those focused on identity politics.

LGTPQ, DEI, Critical Race Theory, modern feminism, BLM, ANTIFA are all Marxist and have roots going back decades. Marxism has been the prime supporter of the anti-patriarch (anti-man), anti-family and sexual liberation movements.

Marxism is fundamentally atheistic which means fundamentally anti-Christian.

Who am I intentionally trying to help take one step toward Jesus right now?

The Great Commission isn’t “care about people in general.” It’s make disciples! Don’t wait until you feel confident at evangelism. Obedience comes first; confidence will come later.

Ask God for one name, one face, one next step—and then move toward them with humble courage. Invite them to church and give the Holy Spirit an opportunity to work on them!
