My name is Bill Donaldson and I am humbled to serve as an elder at GCC.
We moved around a lot when I was very young and then settled in McCall, Idaho when I was 4. We moved to Grangeville when I was 10 and I graduated from Grangeville High School in 1984. After graduation, I joined the Marines and was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, a dry heat isn’t better : ). After the Marines, I went to college at Boise State University getting my Degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in education. I then taught High School Math for 31 years, with the first nine years at Notus and then God moved me to Borah High School in Boise for the rest of my career. Once I retired, God saw fit for me to come back to Grangeville.
At the wise old age of eight I accepted Jesus at the Nazarene Church in McCall. I attended Evergreen Assembly of God while growing up in Grangeville. They did not have their own baptistery there so they used GCC’s. It makes me smile to think of the journey that has brought me back to where I was baptized. I attended Capital Christian Center in Meridian during and after college. I was a member of the leadership team of the singles group and many other leadership roles including time as a deacon/elder.
I am happy to be teaching the Jr./Sr. High Sunday School. When I told my students at Borah that I was going to retire, they asked me if I was going to be happy not having to deal with teenagers anymore? I told them, “Teenagers are my favorite people!” I gravitated to the sound system at church because of my audio hobbie.
Hobbies: Photography, all things audio (yes tube amps do sound better), hunting, shooting, cooking, and tinkering.
Favorite foods: Well I love all kinds of food, but my comfort food is deer steak, mac and cheese and french cut green beans. I know, but God loves us all.
